History

Cheyenne Field Archers, Inc. (CFA) is a private not-for-profit archery club located on the east side of Cheyenne,Wyoming. It was created in the mid 1950s and currently has 200+ members (not including their families). The membership is quite diverse in their backgrounds but all are archery enthusiasts and avid sportspersons.

In 2002, CFA demolished its 35 year-old facilities. The club then erected a new 40' x 160' steel building. This building contains a 12-lane forty-yard shooting range, a clubhouse containing a small kitchen, and restrooms. The building is heated, well lighted, and kept clean by a caring membership. The completion of this new facility was accompanied by a tripling of CFA membership. This was accomplished through the holding of additional public tournaments, the creation of extra league nights with differing formats, the resumption of a Saturday morning Junior Olympics Archery Development (JOAD) program for kids, and the knowledge that there were many local archers not being adequately serviced within the Cheyenne area.

As Cheyenne's only archery club, CFA provides year-round indoor/outdoor shooting range services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Other benefits include the availability of a bow press, chronograph, cut-off saw, and the ability to obtain help from knowledgeable and friendly people. While the club is private (membership being limited to simply paying the annual fees), all of the club's shoots, tournaments, leagues, and kids program are open to the public.

Talk to any of the officers about joining and enjoy the camaraderie that comes with meeting people who share an enthusiasm for the sport of archery.
