The June board meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm on the 2nd of June, 2008. One board member was missing and all officers were present.

Treasurers Report

May checking balance is $11,763.66 and savings balance (building fund) is $9,415.64. Motion to approve with no opposed. Approved as written.

Very old Business

Locks were re-keyed on 3 doors. Keys were issued to club officers, board members and other club members that need access to the back room and the garage.

A new webmaster for the CFA website has been found. Anita Huber has volunteered to keep the website updated.

CFA sent in the application to participate in Super Day this June 28th at Lions Park, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. This is a very special opportunity for CFA to get better advertising in our community. I apologize for my past attempts at humor concerning this very important community service project. Several members complained about my attempt to get folks interested in helping. For the record, I arranged the first Super day archery range and it was huge success. I had fun doing it. Watching hundreds of kids get to shoot bows made the day go fast. If I remember correctly Ken Kenney, Bob Graham, Neal Perkins and Sonny Cross all volunteered that day and not one of them complained about doing so. If volunteering is a problem or looked at as drudgery, I say don't do it. If you want to meet and help hundreds of people in our community, then let Dan Conrad know. We need your help. No joke.

Broad head rules committee still reviewing the rules. No action yet. Smoke 'em if you got 'em, but use your own target, please. Thanks to all the rule abiding members.

Triple Crown rules committee still working on the rules. Rules have been drafted, but have not been approved

Block target sales will not take place.

Carp shoot was May 31st. Rick Ginter and Troy Krawiec showed up and both won.

No one showed up for the work parties last month.

New Business:

No Summer Traditional shoot will take place. The coordinator was too busy and no one else at the meeting wanted to run the new shoot.

CFA received a state sales tax receipt for the past due state sales tax paid last month. The president is trying to get the club 507-C3 status so we can be tax exempt. A discussion on this subject started and ended with confusion.

Mike Hoover will place a soda machine in the range. The machine was donated. The Pepsi machine will be removed. A better variety of pop is the goal. Please keep the diet root beer. Mike will be in charge of keeping the machine stocked.

Meeting adjourned 7:46 pm

215 members!!!

Next Board meeting July 7th, 7:00 pm

Dear BOW Affiliate Club,
It's an exciting time to be a bow hunter in Wyoming. In the last couple of months we have seen some positive changes to archery antelope seasons and we are hopefully on the right track to securing archery hunting of bison in the state. BOW has also broken over the $100,000 mark for habitat and outdoor eduction for our state youth in programs like Archery in the Schools and the Wyoming Heritage Expo in Casper. While there is still a lot of work to do we can assure you that BOW will continue to lead the fight for additional bow hunting opportunities.

While we are talking about positive changes I would like to inform you about the new BOW web site. We have decided to outsource our web site so that it can better inform our members and our affiliate clubs as to what is going on in the state. As an affiliate club I would invite you to post any club shoot or banquet function that you might be having on our web site. We have already provided the link to the WSAA Web site for shoot dates but you can still post individual functions if you wish. As a BOW affiliate you are also entitled to advertise in our newsletter if you wish. Some of you have already taken advantage of this but I would like to encourage everyone to do so.

In closing, I would like to thank you for being a BOW affiliate and we look forward to working with you in the future to make bow hunting in the state of Wyoming even better.

Sincerely,
Jeff Capron
